FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
General questions about EstimateCement. Each calculator page also has its own FAQ for project-specific questions.
Is EstimateCement free to use?
Yes — every calculator on this site is free, with no sign-up required. We may support the site with advertising in the future, but the calculators themselves will always be free.
How accurate are the estimates?
They're planning estimates, built from standard industry formulas and editable national-average pricing — good for budgeting and shopping lists, not a substitute for a supplier's quote or a contractor's measurement. Always confirm final quantities before you buy materials.
Do you store the numbers I enter?
No. Every calculator runs entirely in your browser — your dimensions and prices are used to compute a result on your device and are never sent to our servers. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Why is it called EstimateCement if it also does landscaping and paint?
We started with concrete — it's the most-searched project type — and the domain stuck. The site covers the full range of home-project materials: concrete, landscaping, painting, decking, fencing and flooring.
What's the difference between a cement calculator and a concrete calculator?
Cement is one ingredient in concrete, along with water, sand and aggregate. Almost everyone searching for a "cement calculator" actually needs to know how much concrete or how many bags of concrete mix to buy — that's what our cement calculator gives you.
Can I trust the default prices?
They're national averages meant as a starting point, not a quote — every price field is editable, so swap in your local supplier's actual pricing for a more accurate cost estimate.
Do you cover projects outside concrete, landscaping, painting, decking and flooring?
Not right now — we're staying focused on home-project materials and cost estimation rather than becoming a generic calculator site. If there's a project type you'd like to see, let us know.
I found an error in a calculation — how do I report it?
Please email us with the calculator, your inputs, and what you expected — we read every message and want the numbers to be right.
